Hello and welcome to my Woodland Studio located in the rainforest of Bowen Island, British Columbia, Canada. This space is dedicated to my life on this little rock in the big sea and sharing the creative goods that are inspired by my coastal surroundings.

I have lived by the sea my entire life and cannot imagine it any other way. While my children are at school, I fill my days with my little graphic design company and creating one of a kind heirloom art dolls. This blog is where it all began many many years ago when my children were babies. It was a way to document our day to day and to post fun ideas on how to entertain my littles while living in a rather isolated place. The original blog suffered some kind of digital disease (most likely my fault) so I have been slowly transferring all the old posts over here and digging for the missing images that became unlinked. I thought technology was supposed to make life easier!?!

GRAPHIC DESIGN | I have been designing brand identities for almost twenty years now and love creating the perfect visual that encompasses my clients business or product. It's such an honour to assist in telling their unique story.

HEIRLOOM ART DOLLS | Sewing these wonderful Island Folk is one of my favourite ways to spend a rainy afternoon in my woodland studio. I have a sketchbook filled with ideas and am always learning a new technique to bring these folks to life.

JOURNAL | I have learned so much about the plants and animals that call this rock home. I love exploring our seaside bluffs and rainforest paths with my family, or on a solo venture where I can concentrate on the sites and sounds that are unique to this little corner of our world. My physical journals are filled with pressed plant specimens and photos of our backyard birds and critters. I will never tire of this little rock in the Salish Sea.

When not searching for beach treasures, untangling embroidery thread, finding the perfect font, or walking the mutts, I am the proud mama of two beautiful children and the wife to a fearless rock climber. I take great comfort in a hot cup of tea, vintage typography, fog horns and salty air.
