Our home lab has moved from the living room to the great outdoors a.k.a. our deck. Last week, we brought home a gorgeous crayfish to study for a couple days. We used a large, deep storage container to set up it's habitat and filled it with water from the creek, smooth stones and a curved piece of wood to create a cave. We loved watching it hide in the cave and hang upside own from the underside of the log. We let it go two days later in the same creek where we found it. Thanks for visiting us little crayfish!
Remember these guys?? Yup, they're still hanging around and taking their sweet time to turn into frogs. We're going to let them go back in the pond today, as I'm worried they're going to kick the bucket if they stay here much longer (although, they've survived since March!!).
We've spotted some cool looking cocoons recently...so I'm thinking that will be our next study, as we're very curious to see what is living inside. The mysteries of nature never cease to amaze!!
